According to Variety streaming service HULU will be bringing Erik Larson’s, “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America,” to our screens.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese will executive produce the project with Paramount Television.
If you haven’t heard the thrilling true tale, read the book, or have missed the documentaries - it’s the tale of how two men were linked together by the 1893 Columbian Expedition, AKA the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. The men, Daniel H. Burnham - the architect, and Henry H. Holmes, a doctor who built something else, a murder factory, posing as a hotel near the fair grounds.
This new development news comes after a decade of ‘development limbo’ after DiCaprio purchased the rights with the intent to adapt it into a film. At one point in 2004, Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner had an option on the project.
